YSYS: Sing Hippo! Sing!!

Someone peel my off the floor please.  This was the most complicated painting yet.  Do you realize there are FOURTEEN living creatures in this painting???  AND a background?  Which by the way I learned the key to painting the "golden hour" (about 5:00 pm).  The trick is long high contrasted shadows and orangey/yellowey colors :).  Did it work?  I remember the days I was painting 2 characters and no background except some nice colorful spotty things.  I was like, "Dude I'm gonna finish this book so fast if this is how easy it is!"  Hahaha.... so naive I was a few months ago.

This still isn't finished finished.  Trust me there's plenty more to do here.  But good enough for now!

Six paintings left!  Six days!  Here we go!!!

    I think you've captured the feel of the "golden hour" well. It's my favourite time of day!

      Keep churning I will! And as for your comment below, yeah that's because I realized while I was painting that arm that I didn't draw it in proper perspective. It looks like he's pointing up instead of at Hippo. So I just erased it. I'll put it back in the way I want it later when I have time. Good eye! Very impressive.... Thanks for noticing and being concerned! :)

      Oh, right, got it now. Yes, I didn't realise he was pointing at Hippo. S'long as it goes back in! Hope you've got a list somewhere of all these details. Phew! Better you than me.
